América Latina 1960-2013
Luis Camnitzer exhibits in América Latina 1960-2013, a survey of over five decades of Latin American photography, at the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain in Paris, organized by the Fondation Cartier and the Museo Amparo in Puebla, Mexico.
Bringing together more than seventy artists from eleven different countries, the exhibition reveals the great diversity of photographic practices by presenting the work of documentary photographers and contemporary artists who appropriate the medium in different ways.
Included in the exhibition is Content (From the Christmas Series), which depicts corpses of the combatants that died in guerrilla actions in Latin America. Camnitzer drew the images of political figures using newspaper and magazine clippings.
